Kenai Peninsula · Southcentral Alaska
Tucked along the quiet waters of the Kenai Peninsula, Kelly Lake Campground offers simple shoreside sites where the real Alaska — still water, old-growth trees, and the occasional moose at dawn — is your neighbor.
About Kelly Lake
Kelly Lake Campground sits on the Kenai Peninsula where the road ends and the water begins. We don't run a resort — we maintain a proper campground: level sites at the water's edge, fire rings for evening cooking, and restroom facilities kept clean through the season.
The lake is stocked with fish, the trails wind through spruce and birch, and the nights are dark enough to see the Milky Way. It's the kind of place you come to turn off the noise and remember what a vacation actually feels like.

Camp Sites
Level ground among the trees, right near the water. Each site includes a fire ring, a small table, and enough room for one tent and a car. Quiet, shaded, and set back from the road.
Gravel pads cleared and level, set among the spruce with lake views. No hookups — this is backcountry camping with a parking pad — but the trade-off is the kind of silence you won't find anywhere else in Alaska.

The Experience
Kelly Lake holds rainbow trout and is connected to the greater Kenai system — sockeye salmon run the rivers nearby each summer. Bring a rod or rent one in town.
Moose cross the lake meadows at dusk. Bald eagles nest in the spruce canopy. On clear mornings, you might see bears foraging the shoreline — from a respectful distance, of course.
Trails branch off in every direction — through birch thickets, along river cut-offs, and up to ridgeline viewpoints. The Kenai Fjords region is your backyard.
With no streetlights and minimal light pollution, Kelly Lake delivers some of the clearest night skies in Southcentral Alaska — especially in summer when the midnight sun fades to a violet glow.
We came for the fishing and stayed for the silence. Kelly Lake is the kind of place that changes how you think a vacation should feel.
